Rnd 1: With White Yarn, starting on top of body, insert crochet hook in sc and pull yarn through to form a loop; secure loop with a sl st. Work 8 sc around by inserting crochet hook into sc directly on body, sl st to first loop at end of round (use stitch marker to mark beginning of round)
Body Base Starting Loop

NOTE: The Tutorial is done in turquoise so it will be easy to photograph and the details will show.
Number of stitches may vary by one or two stitches depending on the yarn you use – it is ok. This is to show you the technique of crocheting the gown directly on the body.

For Wand:1. Cut 6” piece of gold metallic pipe cleaner.
2. Fold in half and twist, flatten one end.
3. Take 2 large gold foam stars – place one star on a flat surface. Position the flattened end of the pipe cleaner in center of star.
4. Apply glue – spread glue to all tips of the star (TIP: I use a toothpick to spread the glue).
5. Place the second large gold foam star over the glued portion, matching tips.
6. Press for just a few seconds until stars are sticking. Allow to dry completely before proceeding. (TIP: I used a heavy weighted object over the star to make sure both pieces adhere).
To Assemble:
1. Attach head to body, securing firmly; sew ears on each side of head.
2. Position and sew pink cap on girls head and turquoise cap on boys head.
3. Attach small bow to side of head (turquoise for boy and pink for girl). 4. Attach arms, just below head.
5. For the boy, attach the sash just below the arms
6. Attach bow to sash. I chose to have two strands of yarn hanging to complete the bow. If you do not want to do this, you can trim the yarn. 7. For the girl, secure wand to hand by sewing it in.
8. For the girl, glue the two small gold foam stars on side of cap. 9. Using black embroidery floss, sew smiley mouth.
Little Foam Stars by Darice. Available at any craft store.
